History
Tradition
The production of testing devices for automotive technology in Vsetín has had the tradition since 1950s. At that time in the state owned enterprise MEZ Vsetín, belonging to the group ZSE Praha, were added to the production program electrical dynamometers, that is a device enabling the drive as well as braking of the tested machines including measuring of torque and speed.
First there were dynamometers derived from AC commutator machines, series KS, later from DC torque machines, series MS. At the beginning of 1970s the DC series was modernized and started the production of series of DC dynamometers DS and later 1DS. The power extent of this series was from c. 50 kW to 800 kW. In the production program there were also the eddy-current dynamometers of the series V, cooled by water, to the power extent 125 – 500 kW.
Production
Dynamometers, especially the series DS and 1DS, were produced in big series and exported mainly to former USSR. The final number of produced and supplied test stands with electrical dynamometers exceeded in 1980s 2000pcs. At present a large part of these devices still serve their purpose, but arise requirements for their modernization. In the privatization process was a great part of the production of dynamometers in the state owned enterprise MEZ Vsetín finished and since the year 1993 our firm MEZSERVIS spol.s r.o. started to develop this production segment.
Experiences
Our experiences from the development and use of el. dynamometers are applied in design of special testing equipment according to customer’s requirements. Using highly reliable control systems and applying our own SW equipment enables to fulfil very demanding requirements of the customers in complexly solved projects of test beds, optionally whole test rooms.
Development
A series of DC dynamometers of the type SDS were developed on the base of standard electrical machines used for testing diesel engines, gearboxes and axle drives and a series of asynchronous AC dynamometers of the type ASD are based on special high-speed engines for testing of internal combustion engines.
In cooperation with our external colleges was developed special SW for visualization, test control and data processing for test stands with dynamometers and SW for automotive test rooms and special test stands. These SWs are being continuously improved and completed based on the customer requirements.
