Modernization
The test stands with dynamometers of series DS and 1DS were delivered from 1975 to 1992. In 1992 their production was finished. From a technical and design point of view these test stands are out-of-date today. At the present time it is very problematic to connect them to new-fashioned measuring and control systems of testing processes. The lifetime of electric equipment of these dynamometers has already been finished. In case that the named test stands have not intensively been used and operated for a longer time, the dynamometers proper may be used on a long-term basis after their modernization.
MODERNIZATION OF DYNAMOMETERS TYPE DS AND 1DS 5 - 10
Description:
The dynamometer proper is a DC machine, the design of which is adapted for torque and speed measurement. The torque of the measured machine brought to the dynamometer shaft is by action of electromagnetic forces transmitted to the swing mounted stator which is put on the pedestal bearings.
The modernization of the machine consists of following modifications and replenishing:
The feeding of dynamometers DS and 1 DS of type sizes 5 to 10 is recently solved with Simoreg thyristor converters with a supplementary technological regulator and together with protecting and control circuits it ensures the dynamometer operation control. The regulation circuits enable the operation in n= constant and M= constant modes. The converter parameters are programmable, the converter is equipped with diagnostics.
The control panel of the test stand with basic control elements and a digital operating console for display of measured values and diagnostics is placed on a rotary support that may be attached to the table. It is connected to the feeder with cables.
This solution enables to substitute the existing out-of-date regulators with a new programmable converter, to improve regulation properties, to modernize the torque and speed measurement and to ensure digital measuring and compatibility of the equipment with vizualizing and control systems on a Profibus or an Ethernet busbar.
MODERNIZATION OF DYNAMOMETERS TYPE DS AND 1DS 11 - 14
The feeding DC circuit of the Ward-Leonard system remains maintained with higher type sizes of test stands with the feeding from the high-voltage network of 3x 6 kV/50 Hz. The exciters of the DC dynamometer and the DC generator are designed on basis of Simoreg thyristor converters as a new execution. The armatures circuit breaker including the monitoring of failure states is placed in the switch box. In case of need it is possible to deliver a completely new high-voltage section for switching and protection of the main high-voltage asynchronous motor.
The control panel in this new execution contains basic control elements and a digital operating console for display of measured values and diagnostics.

Due to the saving of main dynamometer components and feeding part this is a very cost-effective solution.
